Abstract

The present paper attempts an evaluation of the experience of interfaith dialogue of the Focolare Movement, which is one of the so-called new ecclesial movements born within the Catholic Church in the second half of last century. The Focolare has been playing a significant role in interfaith dialogue in a moment of world history where the need for a encounter among people of different religions becomes crucial for mankind. What is important to notice is the prophetical dimension of this experience of dialogue, which was initiated some time at the end of the sixties and during the seventies of last century when, apparently, there were no signs of the dramatic situation the world has to face today. For this reason last year an international conference was convened to examined and evaluate the experience of the last forty years and find avenues and new paths for the times to come.
